Africa presses for better representation @ IMF

At the just concluded yearly meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the African ministers of Finance requested, among other things, for a third Chair for sub-Saharan Africa at the Fund. This request seeks to address more effectively the representation deficit of the region. How Gaddafi recruited Nigerians into Libyan army

IT emerged, on Wednesday, that ousted Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, recruited several young Nigerians into his armed forces in his heyday. Security sources told the Nigerian Tribune that the former Libyan leader targeted young university graduates, who were about going for the youth service.

Canadian Visa Scam: Man swindles 7,000 Nigerians

It was high drama recently in Lagos when over 7000 Nigerians realized they had been duped by one Fred Olawale Makanjuola, owner of Crystal Services, a fake immigration consultancy outfit based in Lagos. Olawale packaged a programme, inviting Nigerians who want to live and work in Canada to apply. The package he told them was free and his agency would foot the bill while the applicants would sign a bond to pay him back twice what he intends to spend.
