 Nigeria, UK diplomatic row looms


NIGERIA and the United Kingdom (UK) may be heading for a diplomatic faceoff after Abuja cut British Airways' (BA's) seven frequencies (number of operations) to three. The government had cut down on the European carrier's frequency via a letter signed by the Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah-Ogiewonyi.

18 Ghana politicians fail Africawatch index

The Africawatch magazine has announced that 18 Ghanaian politicians were graded F in a yet to be announced second Political Performance Index (PPI) for Ghanaian politicians. A statement from the magazine said only one politician scored A with eight others following with A- while nine officials earned a B+.

Are white women mutilating themselves trying to look black?

I've spoken to a lot of black women who had been accused (not by me of course) of trying to look white. Although the majority of them denied the allegation, the majority of them also attributed these changes to the latest style or fashion trend. But in hindsight they were directly or subconsciously imitating what white society dictated to be the standard of beauty. You'll be surprised what people will do to belong, to get ahead or simply survive.

Time to organise a dis-organised society

It is undemocratic and detrimental for leaders to think more about themselves as individuals or about their small families, clans or tribes and do not think at all about the people they are representing. Humanism means proper regard and compassion for people.
