It has just been confirmed that Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu died in London in the early hours of later after a long illness in a hospital in the UK.

2011 Ghana’s most beautiful crowned

The Ashanti regional representative in the 2011 edition of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful beauty pageant, Salomey Amoakoa Mensah known as Akua, has been crowned winner of the this year’s pageant.
Akua, a product of Takoradi Polytechnic, after 13-weeks of grueling competition dazzled not only the judges but the show’s avid viewers to beat three others, Enam from the Volta region, Akweley from the Greater Accra Region and Abena from the Brong Ahafo region, on the finale night.

Court awards N25m to Nigerian comedian for unlawful detention  
 
The Lagos High Court in Ikeja has Thursday ordered the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, to pay a sum of Twenty five million Naira (about $162,000) to popular actor and comedian Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe as damages for his unlawful arrest and detention.

African student stabbed to death, mutilated in Russia


A Nigerian student, Mr. Akinola Olufemi, was found stabbed to death in southern Moscow with his ears cut off in a grisly murder, investigators said on Tuesday.

Gambians vote in condemned elections 

Gambians are voting in presidential elections condemned by the West African regional body, ECOWAS, as lacking legitimacy. ECOWAS said the election has been marked by the intimidation of opposition groups and voters. The incumbent President Yahya Jammeh, who seized power in 1994, is seeking re-election.

Show love & care to people

In the recent times, people are growing from bad to worse. As a result, crusades are being amplified that we should not help people we do not know. We hear this on the radio, watch the advert on the Teevee and read it on the pages of the newspapers. What this means is that we should not give help to the people that we don’t know, for example ‘harbouring’ them, for the fear of not being ruined, because of the days which are evil.
