Boko Haram wants talks …picks Buhari as mediator, Saudi Arabia venue

THE violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, on Thursday indicated its readiness to end its campaign of violence but on the conditions that ex-Borno State Governor Modu Sheriff was arrested and peace talks held in Saudi Arabia. Also, the sect is asking for compensation for families of its members killed in the course of its terrorist acts and the rebuilding of its mosques by the Federal Government.

Cash-strapped Nigerian embassies 

THE report that the FederalGovernment has defaulted inthe payment of salaries and allowances to its Foreign Service officials, has unveiled the injurious lethargy that characterises the handling of the country's external affairs. ACCORDING to reports, Nigerian diplomats in most parts of Europe and Americas have become the laughing stock of the diplomatic world as they can no longer pay for their accommodation.

Igbo people, one people, great people, great culture

Igbo people are unique people, very accommodating, generous and enterprising. Because of their zeal and determination to be successful one will find them in every remote village in  Nigeria. As Yorubas in my view should pass as the most religious tolerant group in  Nigeria so the Igbos are the highest investors in the project called  Nigeria with their businesses and properties all over the country.

Nigeria arrests 15 Russian sailors carrying arms

Nigerian authorities seized a ship and arrested its 15 Russian crew members on suspicion of arms smuggling, after they found several guns and about 8,500 rounds of ammunition on the boat, the Navy said on Tuesday.

African Union ends Mali suspension over military coup


The African Union has lifted the suspension it imposed on Mali after a military coup in the country in March. The body has also endorsed a plan calling for fresh elections and the return of law and order, according to an AU spokesman.
