WHEN the
Zimbabwean nonagenarian President Robert Mugabe took a swipe at Nigeria,
describing the country as corrupt and one whose public affairs were governed by
sleaze, the angry reaction of many was not unexpected.

ABUJA (Reuters) - Nigeria's president said on Thursday he
had ordered "a full-scale operation" against Boko Haram Islamist
militants and sought to reassure the parents of 219 schoolgirls being held by
the group that their children would be freed.
