The Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Nweze Umahi, has directed the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Bernard Odoh, to probe the circumstances that led to the death of the 10 Ebonyi youths in a motor accident at Ezzangbo on their way to the Court of Appeal, Enugu.

African migrants hit it big in Spain Christmas lottery

About 35 African migrants, including at least one rescued at sea from an overcrowded wooden boat, are among the top prize winners of Spain’s Christmas lottery, according to the owner of the lottery agency that sold more than 1,000 tickets worth 400,000 euros ($438,000) each.

It's a response to the surge of undocumented immigrants fleeing violence in Central America. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has begun preparing for a series of raids that would target for deportation hundreds of families who have flocked to the United States since the start of last year, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday.

Passengers on a chartered flight operated by Aero Contractors used a ladder to disembark after the aircraft landed at the Bauchi airport on Saturday. It was learnt that the flight, which had 34 passengers onboard, took off from Abuja and the travellers boarded without any problem, but trouble started after it landed in Bauchi.
