A New Year’s party held for boosting diversity held scores of party goers spellbound as African Melody Band enchanted the audience with Mapaka Melody.

The party which was organised by the Mahatma Gandhi Human Rights Movement at Jelky András High School in district 8 in downtown Budapest did not start until after midnight.

Although some of the invited musicians did not turn up, it was nonetheless a night to remember as different nationalities mingled and jointly welcomed the New Year with a feeling of sympathetic understanding.

Apart from DJs Koya and Eddie doing their things with romantic reggae blues that electrified the moment, there were side attractions featuring Bom-C and ONIX Jamsreel which apparently added flavour to the night.

“The night is great but the sound is too loud, “says Hungarian Gábor.

For Olivia who comes from Poland, the music should have been mixed to relate to the diversity of the audience. “I was expecting hip-hop and of course Bob Marley, but too much of the same style”.

Nikolett who is African Hungarian says the “night is a happy night” because she could meet with friends and sympathetic people.

The night would have been one of those New Year’s Eve parties but for the cultural and diversity dimension which apparently delighted the audience.

The combination of Dava G, Festus, and Peter with the introduction of Fela’s powerful beating of Congo drum and Malik’s energetic beating of Djembe added to the sensation of the night.
