What is an Australian doing in Hungary learning French and Spanish, with Serbian and Japanese on the way?

Hello readers! My name is Laura Brown, I am originally from Australia, but I have been living in Budapest for the past 5 years. You can say that I am a woman with a genuine love of languages.

For me, a language is not just made up of grammar and vocabulary, but it introduces someone to a new culture and people; it opens up a whole new world, as the song goes. 

This passion of mine is combined with another: travel. There is no better way to learn a language and get to know its culture, than being in that country. 

Being a resident of Hungary, you and I are both exposed to the Hungarian language, to its culture and simply - to life. 

Indeed, Budapest has an array of culture to offer. There are hundreds of cinemas and museums, thousands of theatres and concert halls, and a million bars and cafés. 

There is not one night in the week that goes by when you can’t feel like it’s the weekend. There are always activities going on, be it a movie, an exhibition, a play, a concert or a public event in the streets and squares of the city.

Tourists visit Budapest all year round; foreigners end up living in Budapest. The city is multicultural and willing to invite even more to the already big family.

I am a young ambitious writer. I am open to new cultures, and would love to get to know the African community! I hope there is room for one more family member.
