Budapest: 25 nightclubs closed

The national disaster control directorate ordered the closure of 25 night spots due to absences of fire escape routes and operational licence shortcomings in the first five months of the year, spokeswoman Tímea Petróczi told Magyar Nemzet on Friday.

The directorate has filed 73 misdemeanour reports, meted out hundreds of fines and conducted nearly 1,700 fire-protection checks in response to the crush that claimed three lives at West-Balkán club in Budapest last winter.
The affected clubs were closed in the last five months.
