"Some 380,000-390,000 people attended the Sziget festival this year, according to preliminary data, chief organiser Károly Gerendai announced on Sunday, the last day of the festival.
The number of foreign visitors increased, as they bought 80% of the weekly passes sold. However, the festival is expected to lose hundreds of millions of forints.

The biggest loss-making event was last Tuesday’s concert by Prince, for which 10,200 daily tickets were sold, while the show was free to those holding weekly passes. This concert alone caused over a Ft 100 million shortfall, Gerendai said.

The losses will be offset by profits from other events run by the organiser, such as the Balaton Sound and Volt festivals."
