Consensus Voice
By Odimegwu Onwumere

This voice is heard
with words
transient against nature.
It wants me
to look
at the world
but will not be allowed
to say anything.

My voice have become
a voice of misunderstanding
because of the wind of change
it carries
for the emancipation of transparency
and not sycophancy.

I know that
what is hidden in the dark
must be revealed
when it is light
and
this consensus voice
will be discomfitured.

I am afraid
many people dance the music
of this consensus voice
even when they know
the music is
without a rhythm and a rhyme.

This consensus voice shall melt
for the people to see
the memories of uprightness.

People are aware
of
this consensus voice
always roaring
in the crowd
but not innocent.

Foolishness is dangerous
than death
and this is the character
of this consensus voice
that wants many of us around
but not to sustain us.
