Who robbed African Museum in Balatonederics?
By Archie Bonka
It was an unexpected event as robbers invaded the historical African Museum in Balatonederics on August 15th carting away with a forty-five-year old Rhino horn.
The stolen item was estimated at a street value of 110,000 euro, according to the owner who was numb with shock.
It
was said that some people had tried to break into the museum under the
cover of heavy downpour and strong wind the night before the robbery.
Although they were repelled by the night security, the robbers
eventually achieved their sordid aim by breaking in at around 1.35 am
the next day.
Our reporter who was a special guest worker at the
museum put the blunder on lack of communication, saying the workers
were not informed about the attempted break in which could have alerted
them into action.
Lack of adequate security as observed by our reporter is another reason because "even a CCTV camera was not installed in such
a big place."
The museum has since been a source of revenue as
thousands of visitors are said to always troop in every year to see the
age old African museum.
