Seal & Heidi Klum confirm split

British singer Seal and German supermodel Heidi Klum have released a statement confirming they are splitting after nearly seven years of marriage, following divorce rumours this weekend.

The couple told People: "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.

"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.
"We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."]

The 38-year-old Project Runway host and 48-year-old 'Kiss From a Rose' musician are parents to Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2. They married Mexico in May 2005.

Rumours of a break-up started on Saturday, when TMZ reported Heidi was planning to file divorce papers in LA County Superior Court as early as next week, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Sources came forward to tell various news outlets that although the couple had been arguing a lot, they had no plans to announce a split yet, despite Seal tweeting: "The End" on Friday.
