Only two out of the five representatives from Africa managed to advance to the knock out stage of the football tournament in Brazil. Nigeria and Algeria came second in their respective group to march on.
In group F, Nigeria has 4 points: Drew 0-0 with Iran, beat Bosnia 1-0 and lost to Argentina 2-3 enough to see the African Champion move to the round of 16.
Algeria on the other hand came second in its group H just behind Belgium which defeated the North African representative 2-1; beat South Korea 4-2 and drew 1-1 with Russia. Algeria also has 4 points.
Nigeria meet the winner of group E, France on Monday June 30 at 18:00hrs CET (Central European Time) and Algeria face Germany, group G winner, on the same day at 22:00hrs
