Gaddafi’s son Saadi threatens to lead uprising from exile

One of Gaddafi’s sons, Saadi has announced his intention to lead an uprising against Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC).

Speaking in a television interview from Niger, where he is exiled, Saadi said he maintains regular contact with the army, the militias, NTC officials, his family, and other stakeholders in the country.

“First of all, it is not going to be an uprising limited to some areas. It will cover all the regions of the Jamahiriya and this uprising does exist and I am following and witnessing this as it grows bigger by the day,” he said.

Saadi claimed that he commands many followers in Libya, including some members of the ruling National Transitional Council (NTC).
