Refugee centres fill up as Hungary tightens borders

Bicske, Hungary - An Afghan family walked along the sidewalk leading to the entrance, flashed their ID cards and passed through the rotating steel gate into the Bicske camp. Home to hundreds of refugees and migrants who stopped over in Hungary on their way to Western Europe, Bicske is one of three refugee camps providing temporary residence across Hungary.

Rivers: Before every one is killed

I have no doubt in my mind that Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers state is a tragic hero. Taking full control of primitive power after a recently  dubious and highly contestable supreme Court judgement, Rivers, in the words of Karl Maier, is a house that's fallen. Just like what Adolf Hitler did to the Jews, Wike(d) is on the verge of achieving a global notoriety of political terrorism with the intent to wipe out a whole generation of political class in the opposition in Rivers.

Refugee crisis: Hungary sends more troops to border

Asotthalom, Hungary - The Hungarian government has announced the deployment of an additional 1,500 troops and police officers on its border with Serbia, as it extended a nationwide state of emergency in response to the ongoing refugee crisis in Europe. Interior Minister Sandor Pinter made the announcement during a press conference in Hungary's capital Budapest on Wednesday (March 3, 2016.)

Refugee crisis: EU deal with ‘sultan Erdogan’ slammed by MEPS

The European Union was, on Wednesday, accused of handing the “keys to the gates of Europe” to “Sultan Erdogan” as MEPs questioned Turkey’s human rights record. At a European parliament debate on Wednesday over an outline agreement that would see migrants and refugees returned from Europe to Turkey, leaders of some of the parliament’s largest political groups spoke out in criticism.

Yoruba recognised as official language in Benin Republic says Amb Obisakin

BENIN Republic has recognised the Yoruba language as second official language in the country. Nigeria's Ambassador to Benin, Dr Lawrence Obisakin, who disclosed this also said Dendi, another indigenous Nigeria language, is also being recognised alongside Yoruba by the Beninoise Government, underscoring the affinity between the two countries.
