The embattled Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak has addressed the nation, saying he won't run again but will spend the remaining of his term which ends in September 2011. He says the new government will respond to the demands of the youth.
But his speech seems to have fallen on deaf ears as protesters refused to leave, chanting "Mubarak must go".
In his speech aired on State TV, Mubarak stressed that the situation is between stability and chaos. "We are living in difficult days," he asserted.
Mubarak, who has ruled Egypt for 30 years said that he was proud of his service to the nation, adding that "it is not in my nature to abandon responsibility".
"I will not leave Egypt," he emphasized.
However, oppositions have refused to dialogue with him, saying he must leave.
