African community lawyer is dead

Dr. Horváth Peter was confirmed dead on Wednesday September 14 after complaing of stomach pain. Until his death, Horváth was popular among the African Community in Hungary as he represented many of them in both criminal and civil cases.
A defence lawyer who lost his wife last year, he partnered with the Mahatma Gandhi Human Rights Organisations in 2000 to help immigrants fight for their rights.
Horváth was actually involved in a child custody litigation between an African man and Hungarian woman but could not finish that particular case before he passed on.

He was also said to have served until his last breath when he visited an African in prison to take up his case as well as help secure the release of a Vietnamese.
Born on February 18 1945 in Szymeg Sigetvár in Pécs County, he will be missed by many who have benefited from his generous service.
Horváth is described as a good and selfless man.
