One Africa, as Libyan Embassy receives United African Diaspora Hungary

“There is one Africa. We are together as brothers and sisters. But for some reasons, the western press always wants to separate us. No black or white Africa. No north, west, east or south. Africa is one”.

These are the words of assurance from the Libyan Head of Mission, Mr Khaled A. A. Alamami, while receiving the founding members of United African Diaspora Hungary in his office at district 14, Stefánia út 111 on Tuesday, December 5.

Despite the negative reports on Libya by the western press, Alamami’s words of assurance can go a long way in putting the record straight concerning the reports of slavery going on against African immigrants in Libya, a nation noted for a higher standard of living before the brutal attack by the coalition of America and its allies.

“Yes, there are some problems like every country, but most of it is propaganda by CNN, he said, adding that there are many brothers and sisters in Libya and nobody worries them.

Expressing joy, assurance and trust, Alamami told his hosts that he was happy to receive them. “I am happy to receive you. I am happy to hear that this kind of organisation to unite Africans exists in this region,” he said.

Alamami and his hosts both agreed on the fact that there is only one Africa despite the partition of that continent many years ago by the colonialists.

The meeting centred on how the two parties will come together to use different programmes for the purpose.

United African Diaspora is an Organisation intending to use social, cultural and educative programmes, as part of integration into the Hungarian society.

It could be recalled that Libya is the only African country to hold World Congress of Diaspora Africans which took place in Tripoli in January 2011 shortly before the NATO-led Alliance that toppled Gaddafi and eventually disorganised the social, political and economic activities of Libya, an African country whose standard of living is said to be higher than that of most western countries.

In a similar manner, the United African Diaspora was also received by the Ministerial Commissioner In charge of Liaising, Ambassador Suha György on Wednesday, December 6; while Thursday 7 was the turn of the newly appointed Nigerian ambassador to Hungary, Mrs Eniola Olaitan Ajayi (Dr)

Love the article on Gaddafi
We must rise above tribalism & divide & rule of the colonialist who stole & looted our treasure & planted their puppets to lord it over us..they alone can decide on whosoever is performing & the one that is corrupt..but the most corrupt nations are the western countries that plunder the resources of other nations & make them poorer & aid the rulers to steal & keep such ill gotten wealth in their country..yemen,syria etc have killed more than gadhafi but its not A̷̷̴ good investment for the west(this is laughable)because oil is not in these countries..when obasanjo annihilated the odi people in rivers state, they looked away because its in their favour & interest..one day! Hello from
Johannesburg
I was amazed to find a website for Africans in Hungary.
Looks like you have quite a community there. Here in SA we have some three million Zimbabweans living in exile and not much sign of going home ... but in Hungary??? Hope to meet you on one of my trips to Europe; was in Steirmark Austria near the Hungarian border earlier this month. Every good wish for 2011. Geoff in Jo'burg

I'm impressed by
ANH work but...
Interesting interview...
I think from what have been said, the Nigerian embassy here seem to be more concern about its nationals than we are for ourselves. Our complete disregard for the laws of Hungary isn't going to help Nigeria's image or going to promote what the Embassy is trying to showcase. So if the journalists could zoom-in more focus on Nigerians living, working and studying here in Hungary than scrutinizing the embassy and its every move, i think it would be of tremendous help to the embassy serving its nationals better and create more awareness about where we live . Taking the issues of illicit drugs and forged documents as typical examples.. there are so many cases of Nigerians been involved. But i am yet to read of it in e.news. So i think if only you and your journalists could write more about it and follow up on the stories i think it will make our nationals more aware of what to expect. I wouldn't say i am not impressed with your work but you need to be more of a two way street rather than a one way street . Keep up the good work... Sylvia
