mobilise the Brazilian community,” said Wagner Antunes who attended the
festival with Rafael Neves, vice consul.
He
added that even though the Brazilians in Budapest
“are away from home, they are still part of the larger community”.
Speaking
further to African News Hungary, Mr.
Antunes explained that since there is very large number of Hungarian in Sao Paulo, the programme is an opportunity to bring more
Brazilians to Hungary.
Moreover,
it is also said to be an initiative to show Brazilian culture, ways of life,
dance, arts exhibitions, Brazilian movies and food.
Though
the programme is the sole responsibility of the Brazil Council, it is supported
by the embassy in terms of logistics and publicity.
The
Brazilian Independence comprised
a series of political events occurred in 1821–1823, most of which involved
