SHORT STORY

Who will replace Dimma’s teeth?
 By Odimegwu Onwumere

Credit to TNN Online
It was the hour when men of goodwill ought to have retired to bed that the deafening noise emerged from Mazi Egede’s house. What I could not ascertain from my house was if the sadistic female voice in the midst of the noise was his mother’s, wife’s or daughter’s voice. The aggressive voice certainly was not for celebration as I had earlier thought because Mazi Egede had formed the habit of partying whenever he sold a piece of land.

Nigerian transports Yoruba culture to Austria & beyond
By Hakeem Babalola

The passion to preserve his native language has inspired Babátó̩lá Aló̩ba to do something in far away Austria where the demand for the Yoruba language is shaping a new thought. His love for language especially his native language plus the love of children has put things in motion for this determined Nigerian man who migrated to Austria in 1971.

The Devil at work (Personal Story)
By Shaibu Stephen Ojate

Image result for yaya bello picsOn 11th November 2017, I received calls from good friends on the post that appears on my wall. The Callers call to verify whether I am still on my facebook account and replied ‘Yes’ not knowing that something was fetching. He now preceded that if that is the case “why am I using it to insult our Governor?” It was at that level I now ask what he means by that. He then told me that a post emanated on my facebook wall where I called Governor Yahaya Bello a “useless person”.

Oil And Gas Sector: Gulping Billions of Dollars with Unfeasible Results

In this report, Odimegwu Onwumere unearths that the utilisation of the local content in the oil and gas sector is still a tall dream since the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act was enacted in 2010; and $380b dollars or more have been lost in 50 years in the industry despite the billions of dollars also being pumped in, to sustain the scheme

Nigeria: Hatred for Goodluck Jonathan, no love for Muhammadu Buhari
By Hakeem Babalola

Nigerians voters have never got it right in their quest for sincere and benevolent governance. As it is widely believed, the time they almost got it right was in 1993 presidential election described as free and fair widely believed to have been won by MKO Abiola but annulled by Ibrahim Babangida, the then military Head of State. Till now, even as old as Babangida is, he is still shying away from telling the truth. That’s exactly the metaphor – of leadership in Nigeria.

Nigeria: Time to belittle the remaining coup plotters
By Hakeem Babalola

Playing chess with Nigeria's life

Nigeria and Nigerians will never know peace until certain people are banished or get rid of or put to death. This is no joke. Neither is it a kid stuff. This reality has been deliberately avoided by all Nigerians. I repeat there will be no peace or even justice in Nigeria unless certain people especially the coup plotters who have ruled this nation are eliminated one by one. How this is going to be achieved I don’t really know now. But it must be done. Anything apart from this is a mere waste of our precious time – physically, socially, economically, politically and spiritually.

Hungarian €54m loan to Nigeria: The truth of the matter
By Hakeem Babalola

Before I go in perspective, it’s important for me to state why I participated in the recent protest against the €54m loan reputed to have been agreed upon between the Nigerian and Hungarian governments. Two things though: My considerable distrust of Nigerian public officials in terms of accountability and excessive corruption; and of course, my intense dislikes for wasteful and “enslavement” loan or borrowing. I am of the opinion that borrowing impoverishes a nation and its people.

Taking ‘forward ever’ to another level, Ghana has done it again, Ayekoo!By Samwin Banienuba
Image result for ghana flagOn December 7th, 2016 Ghanaians pulled off yet another peaceful election almost on the blind side of the world as many remained fixated on the thunderbolt of the American election before it and the embarrassing confusion in the Gambian election next door. The 8th quadrennial affair in Ghana passed off without hiccups as if the exercise of this democratic principle of changing their leaders through the ballot box has always been indigenous.

Hungary's Orban and ally Putin cement closer ties
Peter Murphy & Maria Pania

Putin & Viktor
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban cemented closer ties at talks Thursday, amid growing EU rifts over sanctions against Moscow because of its meddling in Ukraine. The Budapest meeting with the right-wing Orban -- who wants the European Union to lift its punitive measures -- was Putin's first visit to a bloc member since the shock election of US President Donald Trump in November.

Love the article on Gaddafi
We must rise above tribalism & divide & rule of the colonialist who stole & looted our treasure & planted their puppets to lord it over us..they alone can decide on whosoever is performing & the one that is corrupt..but the most corrupt nations are the western countries that plunder the resources of other nations & make them poorer & aid the rulers to steal & keep such ill gotten wealth in their country..yemen,syria etc have killed more than gadhafi but its not A̷̷̴ good investment for the west(this is laughable)because oil is not in these countries..when obasanjo annihilated the odi people in rivers state, they looked away because its in their favour & interest..one day! Hello from
Johannesburg
I was amazed to find a website for Africans in Hungary.
Looks like you have quite a community there. Here in SA we have some three million Zimbabweans living in exile and not much sign of going home ... but in Hungary??? Hope to meet you on one of my trips to Europe; was in Steirmark Austria near the Hungarian border earlier this month. Every good wish for 2011. Geoff in Jo'burg

I'm impressed by
ANH work but...
Interesting interview...
I think from what have been said, the Nigerian embassy here seem to be more concern about its nationals than we are for ourselves. Our complete disregard for the laws of Hungary isn't going to help Nigeria's image or going to promote what the Embassy is trying to showcase. So if the journalists could zoom-in more focus on Nigerians living, working and studying here in Hungary than scrutinizing the embassy and its every move, i think it would be of tremendous help to the embassy serving its nationals better and create more awareness about where we live . Taking the issues of illicit drugs and forged documents as typical examples.. there are so many cases of Nigerians been involved. But i am yet to read of it in e.news. So i think if only you and your journalists could write more about it and follow up on the stories i think it will make our nationals more aware of what to expect. I wouldn't say i am not impressed with your work but you need to be more of a two way street rather than a one way street . Keep up the good work... Sylvia
